The BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas is a marathon unlike any other. Running in the Lion City offers an experience unlike anywhere else in the world, with its iconic city views and distinctly tropical climate.
TRAIN
TRAIN FOR THE RACE.
TRAIN FOR THE CITY.
Heat, humidity, and sudden rain showers are all part of the challenge. Training well means learning to adapt to the conditions, pacing wisely, fuelling properly for your chosen distance and staying consistent throughout your preparation.
TRAIN WITH
OUR VERY OWN.
Lion City Road Runners (LCRR) is a newly launched community initiative for runners preparing for the upcoming race weekend. Powered by Running Department, it will kick off in August with training runs that are designed to help you run safely and consistently in local conditions.
TRAIN WITH THE COMMUNITY
Local run clubs across the island keep the spirit of the marathon alive all year round. Join a club to train, share miles, and build momentum towards race day.

TRAIN WITH
A PLAN.
Training takes more than commitment. It takes a plan. Learn how to train with purpose with training advice from Soh Rui Yong, Singapore's National Marathon Record Holder, whose experience competing and training in Singapore's heat and humidity has helped him set multiple national records.
TRAINING IS WINNING.
Just entered your running era? Take it one run at a time. Build gradually, stay consistent, and don’t worry about being the fastest runner out there. Showing up regularly is what counts!
RESPECT THE CLIMATE
Heat and humidity are part of the deal here. Start your runs early if you can and keep the pace manageable.
HYDRATE & FUEL
This climate will have you sweating in no time. Hydrate often and practise your fuelling strategy during long runs.
LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
Some days will feel great, others less so. Rest when needed. Recovery is just as important as the run itself.
