General

Is this the official marathon event in Singapore?

Yes. The BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas is Singapore’s one and only national marathon, officially organised and delivered by SG International Marathon Pte. Ltd., supported by Sport Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board, and Singapore Athletics.

It continues Singapore’s long-standing tradition of hosting an annual national marathon weekend on the first weekend of December, beginning under a new event identity in 2026.

When do sign-ups open?

Registration opens 10am (SGT), 27 April 2026.

When do sign-ups close?

Registration closes 30 September 2026, or earlier if capacity is reached.

How will updates be shared?

Official updates will be published on this website.

Who can take part?

There are event categories for adults, children, first timers, and experienced runners. Find out more on the respective event pages.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

The event will proceed as planned in the event of light rain. However, in cases of severe weather conditions such as thunderstorms, haze, or other weather conditions, the organiser reserves the right to delay, suspend, or cancel the race in the interest of participant safety. Updates will be communicated via official event channels.

In the event of a cancellation, all runners will be advised on the collection of their entitlements, either on-site or at an alternative location or date, as determined by the organiser.

Race Events

When are the race events?

The race events will take place from 4 to 6 December 2026.

Who can take part?

There are event categories for adults, children, first timers, and experienced runners. Find out more on the respective event pages.

What is the cut-off time for each race category?

The cut-off times for each race are as follows: 7 hours for the BYD Marathon, 3 hours 45 minutes for the adidas Half Marathon, 2 hours 30 minutes for the Standard Chartered 10km, and 1 hour 15 minutes for the 5km Race. Intermediate cut-off points and respective timings will be provided in the Runner’s Information Guide.

What is the minimum age requirement?

Minimum ages vary by event category. Age categories are determined by the participant’s age as of event day.

Will I receive my race finishing time?

Yes. All categories except for the Kids Dash 600m will include a timing chip at the back of the bib. You will be able to check your finishing time result after the event.

Is there a deposit for baggage, and where can I deposit and collect my bag after the race?

Yes. A bag deposit will be available as a paid service at $18, which will need to be purchased during registration. Bag deposits can be made at the Gear Bag Deposit Counters at the Start Venue, after which the bags can be collected at the Finish Venue.

Are there any requirements for bag deposit?

Yes. Please use the issued deposit bag provided at REPC. Your bag sticker must be placed in the designated area on the bag. Kindly note that personal bags will not be accepted for deposit and you are advised not to deposit any valuable items.

How do I know which pen I am in?

The alphabet printed beside your bib number indicates the pen you are in. This is determined by your predicted finish time which you have selected during the registration process.

Can I change my start pen?

No, you will not be able to change your start pen after you have completed your registration.

What do I have to bring on race day?

All runners are advised to travel light and must have their race bib on to enter the course. If you have purchased the bag deposit service, please ensure that you bring it with you to be able to drop off your items.

Are babies, strollers, prams, or animals allowed on the race course?

Babies may participate only in the Kids Dash 0–3 year-old category. Strollers and prams are permitted only for this category and not for any other race. Animals are not allowed on the race course for any category.

What happens if I did not finish the race by the cut-off time?

Participants who do not finish within the cut-off time will not receive any race entitlements or official finishing times.

Will there be a Double Up Challenge this year?

No. The Double Up Challenge will not be available for the 2026 edition.

Will Double Up Challenge return in future editions?

There are currently no plans confirmed. Any updates will be announced via official event channels.

How are start pens allocated?

Start pens are assigned based on your predicted finish time submitted during registration.

What happens if I start in the wrong pen?

Participants are strongly advised to start in their assigned pen. The organiser reserves the right to disqualify runners who do not comply with start procedures.

General Registration

When does registration close?

Registration closes on 30 September 2026 at 11:59pm, or earlier if capacity is reached.

Does the registration fee change during the registration period?

No, there is no tier-based pricing this year. The registration fee will remain the same throughout the entire registration period.

What are the modes of payment?

Payment can be made via Debit or Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Visa Electron, Maestro), or PayNow for users with a Singapore bank account or compatible mobile wallet.

Are Standard Chartered Cardholders entitled to any discount? If yes, which participating countries are eligible?

Yes, Standard Chartered Cardholders can enjoy a 10% discount on their registration fees across all race categories. Please note that the discount is subject to the first 8,000 registrations and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the quota is reached, the discount will no longer be available.

This promotion applies to Standard Chartered cards issued in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brunei, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, China, Taiwan, Korea, and Hong Kong.

Can discounts be stacked?

No, discounts cannot be stacked. If multiple discounts are available, please select the highest applicable discount when registering.

How do I know if I am successfully registered?

A confirmation email will be sent to your inbox upon successful registration. Please check your Inbox and Junk folder. If it is not received, kindly contact info@singaporeinternationalmarathon.com for assistance.

How can I edit my registration details?

For any changes to registration details, please email info@singaporeinternationalmarathon.com for assistance.

I’m unable to attend the race due to injury or other reasons. Can I get a refund or defer my entry?

We’re sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, all race registrations are non-refundable and cannot be deferred to future events. However, if you purchased the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas – RunFlex service during the point of registration, you can cancel your race entry by 27 Nov 2026 and receive an 80% refund (excluding the cost of the RunFlex service).

Can I transfer my race entry to someone else?

No, all race registrations are strictly non-transferable.

Can I change my registered race category?

Yes, category changes will be available from 30 June to 31 August 2026. An admin fee of SGD 20 applies. Please note that any difference in registration fees will not be refunded if you switch to a lower-priced category. Please email us at info@singaporeinternationalmarathon.com

What add-ons are available during registration?

Participants may select optional add-ons during registration, which include items such as iTAB, bag deposit services, and the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas – RunFlex service.

What is the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas – RunFlex service?

This service is available only during registration. With it, you can cancel your race entry for any reason by 27 Nov 2026 and receive an 80% refund (excluding the cost of the RunFlex service).

Is the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas – RunFlex service add-on mandatory?

No. The RunFlex service add-on is entirely optional. However, it is only available during registration, so participants who wish to opt in should do so during registration.

 

Can I purchase add-ons after I complete registration?

Availability of add-ons after registration varies by item. In particular, the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas – RunFlex service is only available during registration and cannot be purchased afterwards. Participants are encouraged to select all desired add-ons during the registration process.

Will loyalty initiatives such as the 300KM Club and 500KM VIP Programme be continued this year?

No. Following a change in Event Promoter, cumulative mileage will no longer be tracked moving forward, and previous loyalty initiatives such as the 300KM Club and 500KM VIP Programme have been discontinued.

I am a Work Permit holder and cannot register via Singpass as my address is not showing. What should I do?

As Work Permit holders’ address details are not typically available within the Singpass app or Myinfo profile, please register as an International applicant instead.

I’m an S Pass holder and cannot register via Singpass as my address is not showing. What should I do?

If your address is not showing in Myinfo, it may not have been registered or updated with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). Unlike Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, S Pass holders must update their address directly with MOM for it to appear in Singpass/Myinfo.

Corporate/Bulk Registration

How can I purchase corporate/bulk registration?

For corporate/bulk registrations, please email sales@singaporeinternationalmarathon.com for more information.

What are the requirements for corporate/bulk purchases?

For all corporate/bulk purchases, there is a minimum quantity requirement of 20 race bibs. Purchasers must have a valid ACRA registered entity, UEN number, and ACRA registered office address. Please email sales@singaporeinternationalmarathon.com for more information.

What are the available modes of payment?

For corporate/bulk registrations, payment can only be made via bank transfer.

How long will it take to receive an invoice?

Invoices will be issued within 3 to 5 working days.

Which race categories are eligible for corporate/bulk registration?

Corporate/bulk registration is available for the following categories: BYD Marathon, adidas Half Marathon, Standard Chartered 10km, 5km, and Kids Dash (600m and 1.6km, Non-Competitive category only).

When will the Person-in-Charge (PIC) for corporate/bulk registration receive the registration links?

Once payment has been received, the unique registration links will be sent to the PIC within 3 working days.

Will bulk delivery of race bibs be available. If so, what is the cost?

No, bulk delivery of race bibs will not be available.

When does corporate/bulk registration close?

Corporate/bulk registration closes on 31 August 2026 at 11:59pm, or earlier if capacity is reached.

When should corporate participants complete their registration?

Corporate participants should complete their registration by 30 September 2026 at 11:59pm.

What happens to unused registration links?

Unused registration links will be deemed forfeited, and no refunds will be provided, even if the category remains available. Please encourage all participants to complete their registration ahead of the deadline.

Kids Dash

Do I register with my child or my own details on the registration form?

Please complete the registration form using your child’s details.

Do I have to register myself to accompany my child?

No. Please note that each Kids Dash 600m entry permits only one accompanying adult.

What are the age groups for Kids Dash and how does it work?

Kids Dash is open to children aged 0 to 12 years old (based on calendar year of birth).

The available categories are:

  • 600m Non-Competitive: 0 to 9 years old
  • 1.6km Non-Competitive: 7 to 12 years old
  • 1.6km Competitive: 10 to 12 years old

Within each category, they will be flagged off in waves according to age groups: 0–3 years old, 4–6 years old, 7–9 years old, and 10–12 years old.

Is there a competitive category for Kids Dash?

Yes, there are limited competitive slots for children aged 10–12 years old this year. If you would like your child to participate, please register them under the Kids Dash 1.6km competitive category.

How does my child qualify for the Kids Dash 1.6km competitive category?

There is no specific requirement aside from the age requirement of 10–12 years old this year. Please note that slots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is the difference between competitive and non-competitive category?

The Kids Dash competitive category includes a timing chip, an official finisher time, and the opportunity to be a podium winner with winner’s prizes for finishing in the top three positions of each age group.

Can a child below 1 year old take part?

Yes, a child below 1 year old can participate in the Kids Dash 600m non-competitive category. Strollers or prams are allowed for children between 0–3 years old. You may also carry your child during the race if you prefer.

Is there a bag deposit for Kids Dash?

There is no bag deposit for Kids Dash.

Are bibs for both parent and child included in the race pack?

Bibs for both parent and child will only be available for the Kids Dash 600m non-competive category. The issued race pack will include two bibs: one for the parent and one for the child.

Can both parents accompany 1 child?

Each Kids Dash 600m entry permits only one accompanying adult.

My child is 6 years old. Do I need to accompany my child to the race?

Yes, it is compulsory to accompany any child who is 6 years old and below for the race.

My child is older than 6. Do I need to accompany them to run?

No, they can run without a parent or guardian. However, you are welcome to join them.

I registered for 2 children. Can both parents participate?

Yes. As you have registered 2 children, each child may be accompanied by 1 parent.

Are strollers and prams allowed on the course for Kids Dash?

Yes, strollers or prams are allowed for children between 0–3 years old.

Crew Challenge

Can teams be made up of any gender combination?

Yes. This race format is fully open, allowing teams to be formed with any combination of runners — for example, four men, four women, or mixed teams such as two men and two women.

Can I change a team member after registration?

Team member changes may be permitted before the cut-off deadline, subject to the event organiser’s approval and registration policies.

Can international runners join or form a team?

Yes. The race is open to all eligible runners, and teams may include participants of any nationality.

Do all runners need to complete the race?

Yes. All four runners must finish the race for the team to receive an official combined time and ranking.

What happens if two teams have the same combined time?

In the event of a tie, teams will share the same placing (e.g. joint 1st or joint 15th). Rankings will proceed sequentially without omission of positions (e.g. two 1st places will still be followed by a 2nd place; two 15th places will be followed by a 16th place). For podium positions, prizes will be awarded to all tied teams.

How do I register a team?

Teams can register by selecting Crew Challenge during the registration process and submitting the details of all four runners.

I found enough members to form a crew after registering. Can we modify our race entries to take part in the Crew Challenge?

No. Crew Challenge participation must be selected during registration and cannot be added afterwards.

EFGH National Championships

Is the Marathon category for both Open and Masters athletes?

Yes. The Marathon category includes both Open and Masters athletes. Participants aged 35 and above automatically qualify as Masters athletes, but they remain part of the overall Marathon category.

Are the selection pools a mix of genders?

No. The selection pools apply separately to male and female athletes. This means 15 male and 15 female athletes will be selected for the Marathon category, and 15 male and 15 female athletes will be selected for the Half Marathon category.

If I meet the qualifying times, am I guaranteed entry?

Meeting the qualifying standard does not automatically guarantee a spot. The championship field is limited, and final selection is subject to both Singapore Athletics and the organiser’s discretion.

Which races can I use to qualify?

Qualifying performances must be achieved at World Athletics and/or AIMS-certified courses. For more information, please refer to this page. Net times are accepted.

What documents must I submit to be considered?

Athletes must submit the following to Singapore Athletics:

  1. Proof of Singapore citizenship
  2. Race category they intend to enter
  3. Official results certification within the qualification window (1 March 2025 – 31 August 2026)

I’m a Masters athlete. Can I compete in both Open and Masters categories?

Yes, athletes may qualify for multiple categories and prizes are stackable for the EFGH National Championships – Marathon category. Standings will also be recorded across both categories.

I want to participate in a different distance than I qualified for. Is this allowed?

No. You can only participate in the distance you qualified for at a World Athletics and/or AIMS course-measured race.

Is this race open to international athletes?

No. The EFGH National Championships are exclusive to Singapore citizens.

What happens if I miss the qualifying window?

Only performances within 1 March 2025 to 31 August 2026 are considered. Late submissions will not be accommodated.

Do I have to register as an EFGH National Championship athlete?

Entry is free. Selected athletes will be sent a registration link from Singapore Athletics.

Can I qualify for prize money if I run the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas, but I am not part of the EFGH National Championships?

No. The prize money from the EFGH National Championships are eligible only to the selected field of qualified athletes.

Professional Field

Are there age restrictions for the Professional Field?

Yes. Participants must be at least 18 years old within the calendar year of the event.

Can an athlete compete in both the Professional Field and National Championships?

Athletes cannot simultaneously register for both events.

What proof of race result is acceptable?

Athletes should provide official race results from verified marathons within the qualification window (1 November 2025 – 31 October 2026). Videos, unofficial timing, or personal estimates will not be accepted.

Is there a minimum number of performances required to qualify?

A single verified qualifying marathon within the window is sufficient, but submitting recent consistent performances strengthens the athlete’s case for selection.

How is travel and accommodation handled for Professional Field athletes?

Professional Field athletes will receive support with official elite hotel accommodation and race logistics, ensuring a smooth pre-race and post-race experience.

Are Professional Field athletes provided with dedicated on-course support?

Yes. Professional Field athletes benefit from elite stations supervised by race officials to optimise performance and safety.

Can Professional Field athletes receive prize money in multiple currencies?

Prize money is awarded in USD via telegraphic transfer. Professional Field athletes are responsible for all banking arrangements and any associated fees within their respective countries.

Is there a late-entry option for high-profile athletes?

Late entries submitted after 1 November 2026 will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and are subject to organiser approval. Standard deadlines and qualification requirements will otherwise apply.

Race Entry Pack Collection

When is the Race Entry Pack Collection scheduled?

Race Entry Pack Collection is scheduled from Thursday to Saturday, 3 to 5 December 2026.

Where will the Race Entry Pack Collection be held?

The venue will be announced at a later date.

What are the operating hours for Race Entry Pack Collection?

Please refer to the timings below for each category.

BYD Marathon & Crew Challenge:
11:00am – 10:00pm (Thu & Fri)

What must I bring for Race Entry Pack Collection?

Please bring your confirmation slip with QR code. It is also advisable to have a soft copy of the confirmation saved on your smartphone.

Can someone collect on my behalf?

Yes. A person may collect up to two race packs on behalf of others. The collector must bring the confirmation slip or email with QR code, and a completed authorisation form (printed or soft copy).

The organiser reserves the right to refuse collection if the required documents are not presented.

Volunteer

How can I volunteer?

Who can volunteer?

Anyone aged 16 and above is welcome to volunteer. Volunteers under 18 may require parental consent.

Can I sign up as a group?

Yes. We welcome group sign-ups from schools, organisations, and corporate teams. Group incentives are available for organisations that bring in larger numbers of volunteers, with more details shared upon registration.

Do I need prior experience?

No prior experience is required. Training and briefings will be provided before the event.

Can international volunteers participate as a volunteer?

Yes, international volunteers are welcome. However, you will need to arrange your own travel and accommodation.
